Do you want to build a website and start earning money online?

What if I could tell you the 4 easy steps to build your online business?  In this post, I share with you how easily you can get started today by taking Action with 4 easy steps. Plus if you stick around to the end I will include a Bonus. Let’s get started.

Step 1 – Build A List Of People You Don’t Know

You will need an Autoresponder to capture people’s names and emails. The importance of building your own email list cannot be over emphases. Your email list is an asset that cannot be taken away from you. Unlike social media followers, which can disappear in a split second. YouTube is well known for shutting down a channel with no explanation.

What Is An Autoresponder?

Here is the definition given by i-Autoresponder

An autoresponder is a service, script or program that sends out one or more pre-written email messages in reply to an email sent to it. This can be done from a customer either filling out a web form or sending a request email. Basically, an Autoresponder is a piece of software that automatically delivers your information to anyone who asks for it.

Autoresponders are often used as e-mail marketing tools, to immediately provide information to their prospective customers and then follow-up with them at preset time intervals. Autoresponders are an essential part of doing business and online marketing. They save you a great deal of time as well as increase sales. There many options when finding the best price and the features you need and they are getting easier to use all the time.

An Autoresponder not only saves you time and money it helps to develop a trust relationship between both existing customers and potential customers alike. If you are not using an Autoresponder you are getting left behind. There are so many good service providers out there now that make it so easy to set up that you really have no excuse anymore. Give an Autoresponder a try to watch your profits grow.

I recommend: This Autoresponder, because it was created by affiliate marketers and designed especially for affiliate marketers.

Step 2 – Build Relationships With These People

Build know, like, and trust, by remembering this quote:

“Nobody cares about you or what you want…it’s all about what’s in it for them.”

Be personable by answering questions, comment, and interact with people on social media.  Respond to comments on your blog post.  Offer then a freebie if they opt into your email list.

Step 3 – Deliver Valuable Information and Content To These People

What is “valuable content?” Valuable content is content that internet users want to read. Valuable content must be interesting, factual, and well written. People who use the internet are looking for entertainment, information, community, and helpful products at a competitive price.

Deliver your value-packed content through your blog, website, or email list.

Do Not Spam your affiliate links on Social Media, this will get you band in a heartbeat.  However, you should share your blog post on all of your social media networks,

Step 4 – Market Products and Services To These People

Don”t be afraid to ask for the sale. Include a call to action in all your content. On your blog or website, posts include three calls to action. One at the top, one in the middle, and one at the bottom. Many would-be profitable blogs and websites fail because they are not properly monetized with products or services that relate to the content or niche.

BONUS:  How to Set Up an Effective Affiliate Strategy for Making Money on Your Site

There are many ways to make money on the Web and a popular method is to use an affiliate program. But there is more to making money with an affiliate program than simply pasting in your links and watching your bank account grow. The following strategies will help you create a better affiliate site.

Start with Content, Not Affiliate Links

It can be very tempting to create a site that is jammed full of affiliate links. But if you don’t have content to back up your links, your readers will simply leave. Remember, as an affiliate, you are automatically a middleman. This means that your customers can get what you’re selling somewhere else, possibly for less. What do you provide to your customers that they can’t get by going straight to the retailer?

Then Look at the Affiliate Provider

Check out how much they pay, how much their products sell for, and how useful they are. Plus, the more interested in the products you are, the easier it is for you to sell them.

Don’t Worry About the Pay Percentages

1% of a $500 product will net you more than 10% of a $30 product. That’s just math. But it can be easy to get sucked into the percentages when you’re working as an affiliate. If you start thinking “this affiliate only pays X and I could do better” you’re just going to sabotage yourself. Focus on the costs of the products you’re selling, not the amount you get from the sale.

Take Your Time

Affiliate selling takes patience. Some companies don’t pay out very quickly, or you need to make a minimum amount before they pay. If you spend time creating content and then adding affiliate links, your site will do better in the long run.

Conclusion

There you have it. Now it is time for you to Take Action and implement these strategies :

  1. Build a list of people you don’t know.
  2. Build relationships with these people, via social media, and offer them a freebie if they join your email list.
  3. Deliver valuable information and content to these people via your blog or website and email.
  4. Market products and services that relate to your content or niche. Ask for the sale in a non-sales type of way, Simple recommend the products and services that you know to be a good value to your readers

“Action takers, are Moneymakers! Nothing worth wild is accomplished without Action.”

Building online business takes time, patience and determination. I agree with you that building relationship and providing valuable content to the audience is one key success. Provide information and solution to the readers before feeding them with affiliate links. I am building my online business also and trying to stick with valuable contents before anything else. Thank you for sharing this informative guidelines so other online marketers will learn from it too.

Gillman, thank for sharing, your comment is much appreciated. I agree with you 100%, a blog needs to have about 15 to 20 high-value posts before any promotion should begin.  I know that at Wealthy Affiliate there is not a lot of training on the importance of building an email list. But, I can guarantee all successful online / affiliate marketers are building an email list. Don’t rush out and start building a list just yet but do start once you have your blog established.  Here is to your success, Cheers!

Thanks for this article. I am trying to do an affiliate marketing website with wealthy affiliate and I guess I started with a mix of content and product recommendations instead of starting with content only. That’s just because it seems like the most natural thing for me to write and it was easy to include images because my affiliate Links come with images.
I do have a lot of other things to say about my subject that don’t necessarily relate to products. So I guess I am just going with the flow. Even my articles about products are sprinkled with a lot of my knowledge about the subject and I don’t pressure anyone to buy anything but I just put the link there.
The way I see it there is no point in trying too hard to get someone to buy something because the way I shop, I am either going to buy something or I’m not. Someone trying hard to sell me something only pushes me the other way.
Anyway thanks for your article that got me thinking about things and I have considerable resistance toward generating content for my website. I should really give myself some credit because I have written like 5 articles in the past 3 days but I still feel like a continuous anxiety about content creation. I guess I prefer to do smaller tasks like answer messages or data entry because that stuff doesn’t give me as much anxiety but I know that I will create content at my own pace and that will be okay.
    Thank you!

Charles, thank you for sharing your thoughts. You are on the correct path, 5 articles in 3 days is impressive.

When you have about 10 to 15 posts on your blog, my suggestion is to start promoting your content on social media. Wealthy Affiliate member Sotiris has a 6 part series of training that explains how to promote your content.

The training videos are short and easy to implement.

Great post. Your thoughts on building an online business is exactly what I think. There is nothing worth keeping that comes easy. Work out your way while letting others who are in authority to guide you. Knowledge and training should be prioritized in building an online business. Blogs like yours with this kind of articles are very helpful.

Hi, Tom, (my brothers’ name is Tom).

I agree totally with what you’ve written here.  To me, the most important would be the “ACTION” though.  If we don’t have a good work ethic and the will to make it work no matter what, (I suppose they go together don’t they), I don’t think the rest is going to happen.  Would you conquer?

You have to work at it every day.  This is no different than trying to get ahead in any business.  It takes a consistent effort to be successful in anything.

I have a little ways to go in this area and haven’t started the E-mail list part but I know it will come as I continue to move forward through the training and build my sites.

It is about the money but it isn’t about the money.  That sounds weird, I know but, the real reason is to help others… supplying them with the answers and products that will help them solve the issue that caused them to search in the first place.  Build the trust, become an authority.

Thank you for helping me to see that it’s actually easier than I think.  Just add work and stir vigorously.
